End. [exhibition]
Eamonn Doyle
2016

Les Rencontres de la Photographie Arles
Espace Van Gogh Arles
France, 2016

Staged as a series of three interconnecting “rooms”, this 2,000 sqft installation was the first comprehensive presentation of photographer Eamonn Doyle’s Dublin trilogy originally published in book form as i, ON and End.. The works were created over three years (2013–2016), with all photographs taken on the same inner-city streets of Dublin, just outside the photographer’s front door.

Conceived as both publication and installation, End. is a collaborative work by Eamonn Doyle, Niall Sweeney and David Donohoe (the title “End.” refers to both the concluding third body of work, as well as the trilogy as a whole). Built around the photographs of Doyle, it also features serigraph drawing by Sweeney and three-channel sound by Donohoe.

Awarded a Gold Bell for exhibition design, ICAD 2017 — "Beautifully considered environmental design perfectly aligned with the project imagery, which cleverly leads the audience through the work by exploiting perspective, scale and atmosphere."
